Tonya Anderson
Tonya Anderson is an exquisite person who comes from a humble background. She has faced many challenges throughout her life and takes a point to always keep her head up high. She prides herself in letting people know that she, despite everything that she has gone through, managed to find a way to be happy in life. For the most part, this is Tonya’s message. She is a firm believer that anything life throws at you, you can make it through. She draws connections to her own life in effort to show people that she is still living and thriving despite the hardships that were thrown her way.
Tonya started from humble beginnings. As a child her parent were unable to make a lot of money and Tonya was not able to live the luxurious life. Despite their lack of money, Tonya still worked hard and made it into the Naval Academy. This is possibly the first time that Tonya ran into a personal problem. She was unable to graduate from the Naval Academy. It was here when Tonya first decided that she wanted to help people.
As far as relationships go, Tonya also had a lot of trouble. Early on in life, Tonya was raped. If this was not enough, once she managed to get in a comfortable relationship Tonya was strangled by her partner. At this point it would be easy to give up on life but Tonya persisted.
After serving as a flight attendant, Tonya moved to Williamsport, Pennsylvania in order to be closer to her 15 year-old son, who lived here with Tonya's ex-husband. Tonya again was living a humble existence, this time washing toilets. Eventually Tonya almost did not have enough money to make rent. She began to think extremely badly of herself and was on the verge of ending her own life. Luckily, she has friends in the area and asked one of them to help her out. Her friend was more than happy to help her, and Tonya realized how foolish she was to get so down that she was going to end her life over a couple hundred dollars. Tonya than realized what she needed to do and became the person she is today: a life therapist.
Today, Tonya expresses the importance of an exquisite life. She emphasizes to all whom she talks to that life is a sacred, incredible thing and should not be sacrificed for any reason when people are feeling down on themselves.
“Living with trauma is often a lonely and isolating life. I know. I have lived it. I can tell you this, there is joy on the other side of trauma. Your life is exquisite because no matter what has happened to you, you have survived,” she said. .
After living her personal troubles, Tonya has an extraordinary ability to relate to others in a way that can help them overcome the struggles they face in her own life. She originally realized her ability through volunteering in the community of Williamsport. Tonya currently works as a life therapist. It is her mission to show people that they can not only overcome the troubles that life sends their way, but also manage to become happy after these traumatizing events.
Tonya, along with Robin Van Auken started the Exquisite Life Academy. It is their goal to bring guidance and quality information in order to improve and develop the life of others. Together they offer an extensive range of topics which include, but are not limited to: practical to sublime, technical to spiritual, and from useful to esoteric. It is there hope that together they can inspire the lives of others.
In particular, Tonya's specialties are in suicide, gender based therapy, PTSD, domestic violence, abuse, childhood abuse, and sexual assault . In particular, it is Tonya mission to help people find love, peace, and joy in their lives and relationships; however, Tonya’s work goes far outside the therapy sessions. Tonya has been on a couple of missions to other countries and also helps hold a retreat for women.
The Joyous Prosperity Women’s Retreat holds workshops and therapy session in order to help women who have been through any kind of emotional trauma. Along with the workshops, the weekend is also filled with extensive pampering for the women involved to make them feel completely relaxed in the environment that they are in. . If it has not become apparent yet, Tonya mission is to help people through traumatizing situations that she herself had gone through. She truly does believe that every life is sacred and worth living. She has made it her mission to inspire all those going through misfortune, and help them understand that the not only have the ability to go on, but also be happy in their lives.
